ZÜRICH, Switzerland - University of Colorado assistant track & field coach Casey Malone took sixth overall in the discus at the Weltklasse Zürich meet on Thursday, part of the IAAF Samsung Diamond League.

Malone recorded a toss of 211 feet, 7 inches with his third attempt of the day and was the highest placing American at the meet. U.S. teammate Jason Young took eighth overall (206-03). Malone's only other fair mark of the meet was 211-00, which he earned in his second attempt.

Germany's Robert Harting won the meet with a toss of 225-02.

This was Malone's fifth Diamond League meet of the season. The two-time Olympian and NCAA Champion won his second consecutive USATF Discus title in June. Malone won that title with a throw of 205-03.
